Job description:

Customer/Project context: Our customer maintains and enhances the platform (RHEL-based clusters & VMware-hosted Linux VDIs) to operate several engineering applications (e.g., simulation, CFD, FEM) that require high-performance computing. 100+ developers, administrators, DevOps specialists, architects, and managers work together to deliver.



Role expectation: This Linux Administrator role requires hands-on administration experience with RHEL/other Linux systems to operate the platform and the ability to conduct performance/technical tests on the applications running on this platform.



Project-specific tasks and responsibilities

•    Administer and maintain RHEL-based clusters and virtualized environments.

•    Perform system upgrades, patching, and configuration management using tools like Ansible, RedHat Satellite, and Shell scripting.

•    Manage and troubleshoot batch job submissions and scheduling using LSF or similar workload managers.

•    Conduct performance testing (analyze resource utilization - CPU, memory, I/O) of engineering applications (e.g., simulation, CFD, FEM) running on the RHEL platform.

•    Provide L2/L3 support for Linux-related incidents and service requests.

•    Collaborate with application owners and end users to resolve issues and optimize runtime efficiency.
