We are looking for an experienced Backend Developer with excellent communication and collaboration skills to support our data integration projects. You will connect existing backend applications—developed in Scala and Python—to various APIs in a distributed environment. You will work closely with stakeholders and API providers to ensure smooth integration, data consistency, and reliable delivery pipelines to our Azure-based infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain API integrations for existing Scala and Python backend systems.
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and API providers to clarify requirements, monitor progress, and manage expectations.
- Extract data from internal databases, transform it as needed, and send it to an Azure Data Lake and Databricks environment.
- Ensure proper error handling, logging, and monitoring for all integration processes.
- Collaborate with data engineers and system architects on design and optimization of dataflows.
Skills and Qualifications
- Proven experience in backend development with Scala and Python.
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, HTTP-based communication, and authentication mechanisms (e.g., OAuth2, tokens).
- Experience with database data extraction (SQL and/or NoSQL).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and German; able to coordinate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Happy to work in distributed and containerized environments
