Our client is looking for a Bank Credit Risk Expert for a Project in Frankfurt, Germany.



The experts are expected to work on-site in Frankfurt 2-3 weeks per month and potentially remotely in accordance with the guidance and agreement with the client.



The services are expected to be delivered from 10/11/2025 to 30/04/2026.



The Consultant will support the on-site mission team in reviewing the institution’s credit and counterparty risk. This involves credit file reviews of corporate loans in the automotive sector and assessment of IFRS 9 model





Key responsibilities



1. Credit File Review (Corporate Loans - Automotive Sector)



Assess risk classification: determine if loans should be reclassified as stage 2/3, forborne, or put on the watch-list.

Challenge impairment approaches and methodologies.

Examine adherence to internal policies and procedures.

Review the soundness of lending criteria for new loans.

Investigate risk management processes and monitoring.

2. IFRS 9 Model Review (1 FTE, including 1 SM)



Assess the adequacy of PD (Probability of Default) and LGD (Loss Given Default) models.

Ensure proper incorporation of Forward-Looking Information (FLI).



Professional background



Education:

Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Econometrics, or other analytical disciplines.



Experience:



10+ years in credit and counterparty risk management.

Proven experience in credit file reviews, preferably in ECB-led assignments.

Familiarity with LDRS templates and ECB inspections.

In-depth knowledge of prudential regulation (CRR, CRD, EBA guidance on forbearance, ECB guidance on non-performing loans) and accounting standards (IFRS 9).

Experience developing regulatory databases for ECB or NCAs.

Demonstrated quantitative skills in reviewing IFRS 9 models.

Strong understanding of audit and validation techniques, and SSM standards.

Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.

Familiarity with inspection and validation methodologies.

Languages:



English: Proficient (C1)

German: Proficient (C1) preferred, not mandatory

Other Requirements:



Willingness to travel to Frankfurt 2–3 weeks per month during the assignment period.
