For my customer in the Public Sector in Austria, I'm currently Looking for a Senior Java Developer (m/f/x) - Freelancer who's based or can travel every week to their Headquarters in Vienna.
Desired skills:
Minimum >8 years of Java development experience, ideally >10 years
Communicative, proactive personality required
Backend experience is essential; full-stack experience is desirable
Strong knowledge of the most of following technologies:
* Spring Boot * TypeScript * Kotlin * Maven * Jenkins * Microservices * Kafka * Selenium & Cucumber: no testing skills required, but good to have used the tools as developer
Framework:
Type of contract: Freelance
Start: From January 2026
Duration: Initial contract until the end of December 2026
Capacity: Full-time preferred; alternatively, a minimum of 60%
Location: At least one day per week in Vienna required; two days per week would be a plus
Language: Excellent German (C1) required for this role
